I’m Michael Hausam, a Realtor in Orange County, CA, serving home buyers and sellers across Southern California. Over the years, I’ve consistently ranked as one of the top solo agents in my offices and was recently recognized as #1,091 out of nearly 50,000 agents in my national brokerage.
But my journey to this point wasn’t smooth—it was full of frustration, doubt, and lessons learned the hard way.
Almost eight years ago, I was ready to give up. Discouraged and burned out, I wandered into a free training at my local association. That day changed everything. I found a coach who taught me how to:
1. Develop a repeatable system that delivers optimal results.
2. Implement strategies and tactics no one else in my market was using.
3. Communicate my value in a way that made clients certain I was the only agent who could meet their needs.
From that moment on, I committed to mastering and refining this system. And it worked. For the past seven years, my average commission rate has held steady at 2.9%, I’ve never paid out of pocket for repairs or credits, and I’ve closed nearly every transaction at the exact terms agreed upon in the initial representation agreement. These results aren’t just numbers—they’re proof that when you deliver exceptional service, you can earn what you’re worth.
But here’s the thing: I didn’t stop there. I founded Haus Advantage Academy to help other agents achieve the same transformation. My mission is simple: to equip struggling agents with the tools, strategies, and confidence to deliver more to their clients—and, in turn, earn more for themselves.
Before real estate, my career was a mix of entrepreneurial ventures. Straight out of school, I worked in the mortgage industry, eventually selling a small mortgage banking company I started. Later, I built the largest retrofit insulation company in the western U.S., growing it to over 50 employees and multi-million-dollar revenues. The highlight? Watching my sales team—25 broke, inexperienced individuals—transform into top earners. Seeing their success was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Of course, not every venture was a win. The Great Recession wiped out my business, forcing me to start over. But every setback taught me something valuable, and those lessons are what I bring to the table today.
When I’m not working, I’m enjoying life in coastal Orange County with my amazing wife and three of my seven kids. And if I’m not with them, you’ll probably find me on the golf course, chasing that elusive scratch handicap. (I’m close—just need to figure out that one little thing!)
